4. Donations and Payment Processing
We do not store your full credit card, debit card, or bank account numbers on our website or in our systems.
Online donations are processed by trusted third-party payment providers, such as [Zeffy / Givebutter / Stripe / PayPal]. These providers collect and process your payment information under their own privacy policies and security standards. We receive only the information needed to record your gift, such as your name, contact details, donation amount, and the date of your donation.
We encourage you to review the privacy policy of the payment provider you use when donating.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:
- Service providers. We use trusted companies to help run our website and operations, such as website hosting, email newsletter services, donation processors, and form tools. They may access your information only to perform services for us.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Milestone Pantry, our volunteers, or the public.
- With your consent. For example, if you agree to be publicly recognized as a donor or partner.
We do not share donor information with other organizations for their fundraising or marketing purposes.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Social Media
Cookies. Our website may use cookies, which are small files stored on your device that help the site work properly and remember your preferences. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when they are being sent. Some parts of the site may not work as well without them.
Analytics. We may use tools such as [Google Analytics] to understand how visitors use our site. These tools collect information such as pages visited and time on site, and they do not tell us who you are by name.
Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to these signals, our website does not currently respond to them.
Social media. Our website links to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. When you click these links or interact with us on those platforms, their own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for how those platforms collect or use your information.
Other websites. Our site may link to partner organizations or other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
7. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. These include secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts, and limiting access to staff and volunteers who need it. No website or online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. For example, donation records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You are in control of the information you share with us. You may:
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any newsletter, or by contacting us.
- Ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we are required to keep it by law (such as donation records).

As stated above, we do not sell personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without a parent’s or guardian’s consent, we will delete it promptly.
